Korga Ultra Trail 2026 runs 20KM, 50KM and 70KM routes through technical jungle singletrack, river crossings and serious vertical across Gunung Korbu and Gunung Gayong. Beyond race day, three days of side events — cultural performances, traditional games, urban camping and a community fun run — bring together over 1,000 runners from Malaysia and abroad with 20,000+ visitors, continuing the legacy of the 2013 Korbu Challenge.

Foothill Trail Challenge

Korga's entry point into the Gunung Korbu & Gunung Gayong trail system — built for first-timers and recreational runners stepping up from road to trail. Expect flowing jungle singletrack with a manageable climb, none of the technical scrambling the longer routes demand. Flags off in daylight (1st Nov, 08:00) with full RFID/QR checkpoint tracking, marshalled junctions and aid stations along the way. A solid first ultra-adjacent trail experience without the multi-hour commitment.

Korbu Mountain Run

The middle distance — where Korga stops being a "trail run" and starts being a mountain effort. Climbing into the Titiwangsa range towards Puncak Botak on the Gunung Korbu trail, this route mixes technical singletrack, river crossings and sustained vertical gain, with a pre-dawn-adjacent 04:00 flag-off that puts runners on exposed ridgelines during the cooler morning hours. Aimed at runners with some trail/ultra background — this is the category the organisers position as the "serious commitment" tier, with more aid stations and a longer safety net (checkpoint marshals, medics, RFID tracking) than the 20KM.

Korbu-Gayong Ultra Trail

The full Korga test piece, tagging Gunung Korbu itself — the highest peak in Perak and the 2nd-highest in Peninsular Malaysia and Gunung Gayong — the 2nd highest peak in Perak and 4th highest in Peninsular Malaysia — continuing the legacy of the original 2013 Korbu Challenge at double the distance. Flags off at 02:00, before sunrise, meaning a mandatory-headlamp night section before the terrain turns technical: steep climbing, river crossings and a summit push, followed by a long descent back through the same checkpoint network. Backed by the event's full safety apparatus — a 60+ person rescue crew, checkpoint-to-checkpoint radio relay, a main control tent, and ground/vertical/aerial evacuation plans for the exposed high sections. This is the category built for experienced mountain-ultra runners, and the one carrying the event's "international-calibre" positioning for attracting overseas entrants.
